Common Sense Media 25 Must-See Summer Movies

Posted on

Common Sense Media has listed their top movie picks for this summer.

Hubby saw Iron Man 3 this morning, and enjoyed it.

Here’s other’s on our short list:

  1. The Great Gatsby-I’m a sucker for classic literature. Hopefully this will do justice to the book.
  2. Penguins 3D-A good nature documentary is always a hit around here.
  3. Monster University-I’m a big Billy Crystal fan.
  4. Red 2-The first was so funny and I’m sure this one will be too.
  5. Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (Aug 16)- Should be a fun twist on Greek Mythology. The first Percy Jackson movie was very entertaining.
  6. Epic-Buttercup is so excited about this movie.
  7. Fast & Furious 6-This has Prince Charming’s name written all over it.
  8. After Earth-Another purely Prince Charming movie
  9. Wolverine (July 26)-X-Men and ninjas are right up Buttercup’s alley.
  10. The Smurfs 2 (July 31)-We watched the first one tonight.
  11. Despicable Me 2-Another Buttercup favorite.

In no way am I endorsing these movies. Parents will need to make their own decisions about which ones are appropriate for their families.

About rcwriter

Being a freelance writer, book reviewer, dedicated mom, and popular teacher at her homeschool support group—Renewed Moms Ministry keeps Rhonda Clark extremely busy. She writes most all of her own curriculum for her classes that have varied from elementary science, to middle school history and literature, to high school computer. Her middle school history class, A Renaissance World, will be featured at SchoolhouseTeacher.com fall of 2014. When not shuttling her daughter to soccer, archery, bowling, or any other number of endless activities, she devotes time to writing homeschool curriculum and her first novel. Scrapbooking, paper crafting, and reading are downtime activities, but the one thing she enjoys most is spending time with her husband of 20 years. They have two children, a college age son, and a high school age daughter. God blessed Rhonda with a quirky and funky sense of humor. This combines with down home charm, and allows her to connect to readers as a friend. With an ability to put a fresh twist on basic thoughts and Biblical teachings she brings a new perspective to her audience.
