What Every Homeschool Mom Needs in 2013–The Confident Mom Planner

The last item I must include on my list for 2013 ‘must haves’ is a family planner. I’ve reviewed and studied many, many planners, and tried a lot of them. So far, this one is my absolute favorite. The Confident Mom Planner is laid out with one week per page–Sunday through Saturday. Different tasks and chores are assigned to different days. Of course there are routine, daily task that can’t be avoided, but the goal is to do a little bit everyday to keep things from growing out of control and overwhelming.

That seems to be where I end up a lot–with things spinning out of control with no idea where to start. This year I plan to use The Confident Mom Planner to keep myself in check.

In the daily task list, I have a scripture reading. I’m not sure if I’ll follow this or a different one. There is also a box with things to be accomplished during the week. These are things that have no real deadline other than just needing to be done. It’s just a way to stay on top of things.

This planner is reasonably priced–less than $10 to download, but I opted for the extra supplement, which cost a little more. For myself, I printed out the planner and put it in a spiral binding (which cost even more), but I have the customized planner that I want and fits my personal needs.

The supplement items includes a full year calendar broken down by weeks, gift planner for special occasions and holidays, babysitter information, a contact form, family emergency/medical form, website/app list for kids, account keeper sheet and weekly menu planner & shopping list. I plan to use these items to keep up with all those other incidental things I find myself being responsible for.

This planner also has spaces for customization. No one has a life exactly like anyone else (that’s a good thing), and I’m glad there are spaces for me to add those particular items that allows me to keep my home functioning optimally.

I’m counting on The Confident Mom Planner to keep me on track and organized this year.

About rcwriter

Being a freelance writer, book reviewer, dedicated mom, and popular teacher at her homeschool support group—Renewed Moms Ministry keeps Rhonda Clark extremely busy. She writes most all of her own curriculum for her classes that have varied from elementary science, to middle school history and literature, to high school computer. Her middle school history class, A Renaissance World, will be featured at fall of 2014. When not shuttling her daughter to soccer, archery, bowling, or any other number of endless activities, she devotes time to writing homeschool curriculum and her first novel. Scrapbooking, paper crafting, and reading are downtime activities, but the one thing she enjoys most is spending time with her husband of 20 years. They have two children, a college age son, and a high school age daughter. God blessed Rhonda with a quirky and funky sense of humor. This combines with down home charm, and allows her to connect to readers as a friend. With an ability to put a fresh twist on basic thoughts and Biblical teachings she brings a new perspective to her audience.
